As a local company, our specialists possess extensive firsthand experience and deep knowledge of Pakistan’s regions. They regularly explore all areas, stay in accommodations, and foster close relationships with guides and crew. This allows us to provide tailored, authentic experiences that showcase Pakistan’s hidden treasures and cultural richness, ensuring an unforgettable journey for our clients.
Our summer mountaineering expeditions in Pakistan’s Karakoram and Himalayan regions typically run from May to October. Given that most trekking and mountaineering ventures in the Baltoro region of the Karakoram necessitate permits for trekking and climbing, we strongly recommend booking as early as feasible to ensure timely arrangement of all permits and logistics.
For trekking and mountaineering expeditions in Pakistan, we furnish sleeping tents, a mess tent, kitchen and toilet facilities, along with all necessary camping gear and provisions for the duration of the journey. However, it’s essential for you to bring a sleeping bag designed for extreme cold, multiple changes of clothing, a primary rucksack, and a daypack for carrying water bottles and other essential items. While porters will carry your main rucksack, please ensure it adheres to weight restrictions to avoid additional charges.
Additionally, pack a sun hat, lightweight clothing for warmer weather, and ample sunscreen, as initial trail conditions may be hot and dusty. Don’t forget sunglasses to protect your eyes. As temperatures may plummet later in the journey, include heavy coats and suitable cold-weather attire. Carrying a satellite phone is advisable for communication. Equally important are sturdy, waterproof hiking boots. Rest assured, we’ll provide you with a comprehensive list of items necessary for your trip to Pakistan.
All foreign visitors to Pakistan must possess a passport valid for at least 6 months upon arrival. Visas or tourist visas, typically valid for three months, can be obtained from Pakistani embassies or consulates in your home country. Visa applications can be submitted online, in person, or in some cases, by mail. It’s important to note that foreign nationals are only permitted to apply from their country of origin or their legal permanent residence. Once you’ve confirmed your booking with us, we’ll provide you with all necessary documents to facilitate the visa application process.
Pakistan is accessible by air, by sea and by route. Pakistan boasts well-established flight connections from various parts of the world, with major international airports located in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. Islamabad serves as the nearest international airport. Regular direct and connecting flights operate to these key cities from destinations worldwide, with common layover points including Turkey, Abu Dhabi, or Dubai.
Upon arrival in Islamabad, the journey to the mountains typically involves a short 45-minute flight, which we will arrange as part of your package. However, flight schedules can be subject to congestion and weather conditions. In the event of flight cancellations, we will facilitate travel via the scenic Karakoram Highway to Skardu and Gilgit.
